All New SolarXtreme® Series
The new SolarXtreme range of full-spectrum LED grow lights from California Lightworks features our exclusive Optigrow® light spectrum which offers the best results for all phases of growth in a single fixture. Optigrow® has been specially formulated and tested to give the best results in while offering full power for bloom and high yields. Available from 200 to 800 watts, SolarXtreme is designed to give professional results at home at a very affordable cost.
The SolarXtreme 250 is one of our easiest to use full-spectrum LED grow lights. Designed especially for grow tents and smaller scale home growing, this low-power grow light system draws just 200 watts with a maximum current of 1.6 amps at 120 volts.
The SolarXtreme series features a COB (chip on board) design and utilizes a direct AC drive, so LED drivers are not needed. This enables high-efficiency LEDs to be used, at a much lower cost than traditional LEDs. Users, therefore, benefit from full-spectrum grow lights that accommodate all stages of plant growth and flowering for many types of indoor plants, vegetables, and flowers. No adjustments are needed during the growing cycle.
Our horticultural LED lights have been developed based on years of research and knowledge of photosynthesis and biological processes. The SolarXtreme 250 represents a convenient innovation in indoor LED grow lights suited for smaller cultivations and users who wish to conserve on power draw.
I rate the model as 4 or 5, it would be a 5 STAR rating if there was an on/off switch. Possibly, on unit or incorporated into unit’s detachable electrical cord.
This review is only for this specific 2nd unit.
I am waiting for unit to dry out in a low humidity level of 30-45 days.
The day of delivery we had scattered rain storms of several inches of precipitation from downpours.
I found online advice that emphasized not powering unit until in a dry environment of 30+ days.
I purchased two of these for an indoor growing and seed propagation area in my basement.
These lights seem equivalent to HPS lamps used in commercial greenhouses.
I suspect the target maker is cannabis growers, but my crops are rock garden and alpine plants.
My seedlings are short and stocky, not etiolated from lack of light.
I expect to overwinter tender tropicals in the fall using these lights.
I am satisfied with my purchase.
Bought this lil light to try to grow herbs and tomatoes because the bugs are very bad where we live and I don't like using pesticides . I haven't got to start any plants yet but wow that light is very bright so I'm sure it will do the job I need it to do . The build quality is very nice and made in the USA so that was a major selling point and the shipping was very fast.
Just went 12/12. Will find out
Calights have been by far the best I've used. I've tried other brand lights and have always notice the difference in yield , growth and overall plant health, not only is it affordable it truly does its Job. This is the perfect light for a small batch home grower, they also got bigger if you wanna run a much bigger grow...
I use this light to grab 3 auto flowers at 1 time and the light is the perfect size.
My plants are vegging thick and healthy.
Excellent LED light easily equals 400 watt HPS. Electric cost is half.
Very little heat produced which can be a problem if room temperatures tend to be low.
Plants need heat to draw up nutrients and transpiration .
I still use the older solar storms after 5 years? This company builds quality and the funny thing is the prices are lower than 5 years ago.
I leave light in highest point of 6 feet 4 inch tent and hybrid plants grow to where they want.
With indica plants i do place lights lower since indica doesn't grow very tall. Excellent excellent leds
As others stated, this light is very powerful. It provides so much light that I might reconsider using it in my 2.5x2.5x5.5 tent.
I’ve been using it for about 2 weeks and DLI has been manageable for now with autoflower, but I’m a little concerned when the plant starts getting taller, reaching into the red zone, plant training will be more important than ever. With that kind of power there should be a dimmer if it’s possible without loosing full spectrum.
Overall, this is a very good light, probably even the best for the money at this time and it’s USA made. Very much improved over the previous version. Just keep in mind, this light is a tool, a really good tool and it’s up to you how you use it.
Great light i bought one back in March it doesn't have the far red diodes like the new one that I just ordered does but still not complaining both are great lights just bought an extra because I went to a bigger tent super great company fast response anytime you call or email would recommend super super simple to operate just plug and go
I have been using california lightworks ever since the solar flar series and the quality and growth results have always been amazing. Now I use the solar system and the solar extreme which give me even better results while still running cool and efficiently.
