The light and controller work very well. I have been using the color spectrums indicated in the controller instructions. It is incredible how the vegetable plants in my hydroponic garden have increased in size within the past few weeks. The roots are hardy, the stems are thick, and the leaves are a beautiful dark green. I look forward to the flowering stage to see how well the vegetables will grow. Thank you, California Lights, for the SS 550. I purchased it during a 30% off sale. What a great price.

really is. A must have to be able to control your lights properly!!! And the really nice thing is that this controller is real easy to set up!!! Do yourself favor and order it with your light because if you don't you'll just be calling back to order one!!!

I have to say that so far I am totally impressed with my Solar Extreme 820!! I really did want the Spectramax 1000 but they were out of that particular grow light. Christy talked to me about the Solar Extreme 820 and told me that the engineers at California Light Works were really excited about its lighting ability and the way it’s built!!! Needless to say, she talked me in to buying one and I’m really glad I did!!! I’ve had it on my plants now for a little over 2 weeks and I am really impressed at the light output of this 820 watt light!!! It has been doing a great job and the plants are growing fantastic and looking just as good as they do under my 1000 watt Spider Farmer SE1000W light!!! They have just started budding and I am totally excited to see how my new Solar Extreme 820 will perform but so far I’ve been pleasantly surprised at how well this light is working!!! Something I’d also like to touch on is the weight of this light!!! It is very sturdy yet really lightweight, about half of what my Spider Farmer lights weigh so they’re much easier to install and also raise and lower!! The Solar Extreme even comes with all the hardware to hang it!!! Optionaly you can buy a Controller like I did and it gives you flexibility to set the light up however you want to!! Lastly the Controller offers sunup and sundown control!!! I hope everyone enjoys their light as much as I have so far!!! Happy Growing
I have not started a grow yet but the light is extremely bright at 100%. Kinda curious how the plants will react with the controller option of 1/2 hour of dimming and lighting when it’s time for lights on or off. I believe it will definitely do the job.
Flimsy and low light output. Good for a mobile above the baby crib,- hmm... not - too heavy for that.
May be good for sprouting, perhaps.

Have had 6 plants under this light for 12 days, 2 months since germination. Repotted into larger containers same time light was installed. Plants love the light are starting to take advantage of bigger containers. Not sure how long grow will take but things are pretty good now. Very interested in seeing how Gorilla Cookie, Northern Lights, Blue Dream and White Widow turn out. I make oil with cannabis and olive oil for arthritic hips and general well-being. Love growing my own, making my own medicine. Also giving buds to friends.
Light is a quality product. Figured controller set up no problem. 18/6. Used ratchet pulleys to hang.

I have 2 Spectrum max on each side of a Light Rail 5 with a Kind X2 overhead and my plants are growing much faster with the addition of the 2 Spectrum LEDs at only 15% power in the veg cycle! I can’t wait to see how they do when they start budding in about a week!
I love these Solar System lights with the controller! My plants are beautiful and potency is optimum!

SolarXtreme® 500 Really loving the light
I love this light. Here’s why. Small but very powerful and plants love it. Fully adjustable spectrum with controller. Dimming. No other small light can do these things. Nuf said? Try one.
I have hung and put 3 of the 6 on High Blue, Medium White and Red on the one side and the Moringa and Theobromo Cocoas are getting bigger leaves and bushier. The Moringa was always leggy before.
On the other side I have 3 lights on High Red, Medium White and low Blue to get my Citrus and Dragon fruit to flower and fruit.
My Arboretum is 36 ft Long, 18 ft Wide 12 ft high in the center. Since I am in the San Antonio, TX Area. The Sun gets Very Hot so I have a White Opaque Polycarb Roof. It has been blocking the Blues and Red light and my Trees were getting Leggy and NOT Fruiting.
I also have some beautiful Double Mahoi Banana Plants that have been giving me great fruit.
Soon it will be getting cold at night and I will have to bring in my Papyas and Haas Avocados trees.
I bought 2 controllers on each side so I can divide how I use the lights between the trees on each side.
So far I am very pleased with the results I am getting with these Solar System 550 Grow Lights!
I didn’t have a change to use the UVB bulb before chopping my plants.
I’ll give another try on next grow!

SolarXtreme® 500 I put the light on my early plants that were about 12" tall. The light is very bright, and my plants shot right up. My problem is that they started to bud too early for me. In the past I had plants 4-5' tall. these are only 2'. I have the light programmed for 20 hours on, 4 off. Any suggestions?
